The Chinese have passed down an ancient tradition of achieving harmony between you and your environment, called Feng Shui. This is accomplished by a special arrangement of objects in a home or an office, which allows the positive energy and harmony to flow freely. Of course, being Chinese, it goes without saying that it would have an astrological side, but it also has geographical and psychological aspects to it.
They believed that creativity could be increased by the arrangement of a room, and much of his discipline is psychological. The five elements are Firer, Earth, Water, Wood, and Metal, and he believed they all had to work together to achieve complete harmony in a room. They feed each other to maintain balance and if any are absent, it will result in instability and confusion, and the cycle that starts will be destructive.
Water, particularly, has a strong influence, with the Feng Shui believing that productivity and good luck would come if it was positioned right, while bad luck would result from incorrect positioning. Their philosophy says that the direction the water flows has a strong interaction. It makes you wonder if it is coincidence that businesses position their feng shui water fountains around main entrances.
Of course, the most powerful waterfalls will be the exterior ones, but you can harness some of the good luck and the productivity with indoor water. You may need to move your indoor fountain so that it can work harmoniously with another water of another source; even a faucet or a toilet will count. Even though you may use the Feng Shui waterfalls with all the Feng Shui features, the masters of Feng Shui strongly advise you to seek the advice of a master for placement. If you are unable to do that, however, you can try it for several months to see.
There have been many studies done on the this philosophy, but how can you prove or disprove that? If a person believes they are going to fail, they usually do, and if they feel they are lucky and going to succeed, they usually do that also. Believing you are at peace puts you at peace and frees your mind to be creative. So, look around your home or office. Do you need peace, creativity and good luck? It cannot hurt.
